Day 14
In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm not sure what's in store for fandom in general, nor do I feel qualifed to answer. I hope to see an end to negativity running rife in some fandoms at present and a return to a more inclusive and welcoming fandoms. I'd like to see small fandoms find a place to florish and dying fandoms to be nurtured back to life.
For my fandoms
Buffy the vampire slayer
I think the oldist is actually the most thriving. To be fair I've been a fan, but not in fandom until very recently, but it seems thriving there are active message boards and coms, and new fics on a daily basis I don't see this slowing down. I'm not sure how the Buffy reboot will effect things but I'm sure there is enough room for fans of both the original series and the reboot to exist side by side. I'm not worried I dont think the buffy fandom is going anywhere.
Sherlock (BBC)
I fear the momentum for this fandom is winding down, and while there's been no offical word on the end of the show I don't think its coming back which will inevitably lead to a decline in interest . Things are far from over in this fandom though and it's not going anywhere for a while yet, but it is quieter and will get quieter yet. In good news though while intrest in BBC Sherlock may peter out, The Sherlock fandom as a whole will probally out last time itself in some form or another.
Andromeda
This fandom seems all but dead, but I do have myself to blame for this. I had a com, it was small but lively , but I was a bad mod, I never dedicated enough time to it, then let it slip away compleatly. On the plus side the last new fic posted on A03 was just 2 days ago so there is a glimer of life, I could fan the flames and kick it up a gear.
